Most residential swimming pools will be of a uniform depth across their whole length and width, with ladders mounted to let you enter and exit. However, you can also opt for a beach entry pool. Also known as zero entry pools, beach entry pools have one side that slopes downwards to form an entrance. This means that you can walk into the pool, just as if you were walking down a beach and into the deepening sea.

Here are just three signs you should opt for a beach entry pool.

1. You Have Physical Limitations

One of the best things about beach entry pools is that they are a lot easier to enter for people who aren't in perfect health. If you have any trouble moving, it's much easier to walk slowly into a beach entry pool than to climb up or down a ladder. If you have an assistive walking device, you can even use it until you're most of the way in. If you have any such issues, have a family member with such issues, or are simply getting older, you might want to consider opting for a beach entry pool.

2. You Have Young Children

Children tend to love having a pool even more than their parents, but it can be tricky for them to get in and out of a pool when a ladder is the only option. Additionally, there's no area in which they can simply splash around and paddle. A beach entry pool is easy for children to get into, and they can stick to the shallow end if they just want to play. You'll also find that it's easier to teach your children how to swim when there is a shallower area to use.

3. You Prefer Relaxing to Exercising

Some people use their pools mainly for swimming. After all, spending 20 minutes or so doing laps in your own pool is a pretty nice way to get your exercise or burn off some steam. If that's why you want your pool, you probably want to give bench entry designs a miss since you won't be able to swim along their whole length. On the other hand, beach entry pools are ideal if you want to relax more than swim up and down. As well as relaxing on an inflatable in the deep end, you'll be able to lie partially submerged at the shallow end. This is perfect for soaking up the sun while still keeping cool and feeling the water lap around you.
